The Other End of the Leash

A book to encourage others to take the time to talk to strangers. I was inspired by the amount of people I would notice asking dog owners if they could pet their dog. Every person would be so invested in learning everything they could about the dog; name, breed, story, age, etc. Then they would move on without asking the the owner what their name was and even say goodbye directly to the dog.

To bring awareness of this unusual trait humans adopted, I decided to ask people if I could pet their dog, but I would get to know the person instead. By doing this I gained amazing stories from wonderful people. I heard stories of love, travel, activism, and more.

I intentionally cropped the images below the faces of the owners to create curiosity for the audience. Not knowing the identity to the person who’s story was told will hopefully encourage others to follow my lead and talk to the person on the other end of the leash.
